Useful for seniors working before application deadlines and juniors who prepared over summer. Check each college’s deadline before relying on a later fall score.
A natural first spring option for juniors who build foundations during fall and complete timed work over winter.
Offers additional preparation time and can support a retake after a spring baseline. Balance the date against AP exams and end-of-year workload.
If a score will support an application, scholarship, or program deadline, work backward from that deadline and leave time for score release and a possible retake. Do not assume every institution follows the same testing policy.
Choose a date that supports consistent weekly work, periodic timed modules, and at least one carefully reviewed practice test. More calendar time only helps if the schedule is realistic.
